Chevrolet Malibu Classic LS: my 05 malibu has a new fuel pump
my 05 malibu has a new fuel pump assembly and it still shows on the gas gage empty the computer says high voltage
Answer :
These codes are unrelated, replace the evap vent solenoid and that should take care of the P0449 code, if not you will need to test wiring. The correct values are 250 ohms (empty) to 40 ohms (full) for the fuel level sensor resistance…..If resistance is correct at the pump you know you have a wiring problem between sensor and pcm…So you will need to verify connections are good and replace wire. Let me know if you have quetions, here is a wire diagram to help.
P0463 Fuel Level Sensor High Voltage – With Automatic Transmission
Possible Causes | Setting Conditions |
|
Engine running; system voltage from
11-16v, and the PCM detected the Fuel Level sensor signal was more than
3.0v (100%) for 20 seconds. The fuel gauge defaults to empty, and the
CHECK GAGES indicator illuminates on applicable models. This code sets in 1 Trip(s). |
P0449 EVAP Vent Solenoid Control Circuit Malfunction – With Automatic Transmission
Possible Causes | Setting Conditions |
|
Key on or engine running; system voltage
between 9-18v, and the PCM detected that the Actual and Commanded state
of the Vent Solenoid control circuit did not match for over 5 seconds. A
battery voltage is supplied to the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve.
The PCM grounds the vent solenoid valve control circuit to close the
valve by means of an internal switch called a driver. This code sets in 2 Trip(s). This code will turn on the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) MORE NEWS |
