Can a Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve cause a missfire in the engine ?
I own a ’98 Cadillac Deville Concourse. My mechanic is convinced that a miss in the engine is causing it to jerk when I put it in reverse or stop at a red light. However the trouble code I come up with when I test it says the only problem wiht the vehicle is the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Valve.
I don’t think a mis in the engine would do that, unless it’s a really bad miss. Go with the code.
I think your car is too new for a misfire to cause the transmission to have a problem.if the torque converter is locked up it will jump jerk and maybe stall
when you are stopped or going slow.
I belive AL L could be right. I seriously doubt the tcc switch can cause the engine to actually miss , but I do know that
It can make you car jump , jerk, stall, ect.
All of those symptoms feel like a “miss”
Sounds like your mechanic is on the right track.
